"Life is more beautiful when you are smiling!"
~ Dr. Michelle Ta

Dr. Michelle Ta grew up in San Jose, California and received her dual Bachelor’s degree from University of California, Berkeley in Integrative Biology and Nutritional Science – Physiology. During undergrad, she combined her studies with her passion of working with children by focusing her research on global malnutrition and early childhood caries. She travelled to Vietnam during her junior year summer for her research and was inspired to pursue pediatric dentistry!
After college, Dr. Michelle attended Tufts University School of Dental Medicine to receive her Doctor of Dental Medicine degree. She conducted dental public health research as a Dean’s Research Honor Scholar and spent one summer working at Dentsply Sirona, the world’s largest manufacturer of dental products. While at Tufts, Dr. Michelle enjoyed organizing free dental clinics for special needs children, at-risk youth, and immigrant populations and was awarded the ADEA Preventive Dentistry Scholarship.
Dr. Michelle returned to the Bay Area to attend the University of California, San Francisco for her Pediatric Dental Residency training program and also received her Master of Science in Oral and Craniofacial Biology. The three-year program included extensive training in comprehensive treatment with oral conscious sedation and general anesthesia, trauma management, and experience working in school, community, and hospital-based clinics. She was selected as a legislative intern for the California Society of Pediatric Dentistry and traveled to Sacramento and Washington DC to lobby to state and federal legislators about the needs in pediatric dentistry. Upon graduation, she was awarded the Outstanding Clinician Award.
Dr. Michelle is committed to making each of her patients feel comfortable and enjoy each dental visit by providing compassionate and personalized care. She truly believes in the importance of preventative care at an early age to promote good habits, education, and oral health. During her spare time, she enjoys playing tennis, biking, hiking, skiing/snowboarding, and travelling with her fiancé and labradoodle!
Dr. Michelle is a proud active member of the American Dental Association, California Dental Association, American Board of Pediatric Dentistry, American Academy of Pediatric Dentistry, California Society of Pediatric Dentistry, and Santa Clara County Dental Society.
